This week’s Notable and Quotable comes from Fires that Forge, Book I of the Lords of Order & Chaos Series.
“You were younger than I am now when Stilwell was killed,” Silas said. “I’ve no doubt of your strength, for I have relied upon it many times, but how did you endure it? How do you endure now?”
Silas knew the question was harsh; to the point. However, he really needed to know the answer. Furthermore, this would abate the obvious issue they both faced.
I hope this week’s newsletter finds you all well.
If you’re looking for a starter into the Bloodlines Reforged Saga, Fires that Forge and/or Roland’s Path are the starting blocks. The complete first trilogies of both are available on Amazon and can be found here; Heirs of Vanity and Lords of Order & Chaos. We have at least two more series planned (Orphan’s Blade and Templar’s Rebellion) that will go into the over all Saga. Each series is set up to stand alone, but you will find a deeper understanding of all the characters involved if you read all the series. Please consider leaving us a review on Amazon and/or Goodreads. Thanks!
Keep an eye out for the announcement of a winner in the audiobook giveaway of Heirs of Vanity, the boxset of Roland’s Path, Roland’s Vow, and Roland’s Triumph!
You can find an ever-growing glossary and geographic guide on our website here; www.bloodlinesreforged.com. You can also find a few spoilers such as lineage of kingdoms, the Code of the Cavalier, and so on.
I need to tell you about Neanderthal King, by Matt Ward. This is a limited time FREE read available at the link above.
It’s 1107, and the once-great Neanderthal empire is no more, laid waste by the dark Sapien king, Isaac, the same bastard who slaughtered the Thal queen’s young heirs. A brutal reversal of medieval power forged in blood and fueled by Sap ingenuity.
But one babe escaped the mad king’s wrath.
Raised the son of a simple Thal herder, Maralek’s a rough lad with the ferocious pride and temper of his ruined people, a scorn for rules and rulers, and less than a little creativity in his thick skull. In a word, your average Neanderthal.
There is also a group of authors offering a set of FREE fantasy reads. Check out these free reads and, if you like what you see, make sure and let the author know.
On the home front, we’re going to begin creating a few videos of me reading segments of Roland’s Path and Fires that Forge which can be found on our Facebook page here; Facebook Bloodlines. We just added a new page to our website where those videos will be showcased.
Here’s hoping you’re all surviving the Big Q and adjusting to the huge changes we’re all facing right now.
We had a pretty great gaming session this last week. The party consisted of a force mage (disguised as a monk), a templar of Bolvii, a ‘scout’ (read assassin), a bounty hunter, a lanceilier, and a sheld-wynn. So, these goons murdered a Paladin of Bolvii. Now, we find out next week if they are going to try to cover up the crime or explain themselves to the church and the crown.
For those of you asking about the local wildlife, we were visited this week by quite a few white cranes. I love seeing them come through because they eat so many grasshoppers and do a wonderful job of keeping the flies off of the cattle. I know the pic is blurry. It was as close as I could get to them.
Oh, and a fan was kind enough to let me know that it looks like we have a ‘clowder’ of cats and a ‘kindle’ of kittens. You learn something new every day. Thank you for that, Chris!
In other news, we also got a visit from my brand new grand-nephew, Young Master Will. He’s got to be the best baby I’ve ever known. I know, I know, they’re all sweet, but this little fella hardly ever cries and is best described by his mother as ‘very chill.’
Let me know how you’re doing. Feel free to drop me a line at rj@bloodlinesreforged.com with word of how you’re doing, questions about our tales, or comments about the story or the world of Stratvs. If you enjoy our brand of ‘humor’ or just want more frequent updates, you can follow us on Facebook here; Roland’s Quest!
Until next time, ‘Crush your Enemies!’
